Yeast Nutrient is a blend of diammonium phosphate and food-grade urea that is added to the juice or must before fermentation to promote healthy yeast growth. The recommended dosage is 1/2 teaspoon per gallon for heavier-bodied wines and one teaspoon for lighter-bodied wines. The yeast nutrients should not exceed 1-1/2 teaspoon per gallon of wine. The yeast nutrient can be added later to the wine during stuck fermentation.
